Alaskan Yellow Cedar Tapersawn shingles have an extra thick 5/8″ thick butt and are 18″ long. The grade is “Red Label” which means there is no defect on the bottom half of the shingle. Five bundles will cover 100 SF at 7.5″ exposure. Seven bundles will cover 100 SF at 5.5″ exposure. Old growth Alaskan Yellow Cedar is highly decay resistant (more so than Western Red Cedar) and if left unfinished within a few months weathers naturally to a silvery gray as shown in the last photo below. Can be used for sidewalls and roofing. Plenty available for pickup in Moultonborough NH and Stoughton MA.
